Removing a DIMM

Removing a DIMM

If your memory configuration requires the removal of a DIMM module, use the following steps.

!CAUTION

Before opening the computer and before handling boards or memory modules, reduce static discharge by touching the chassis.

1.Remove the left side cover (see “Removing the Left Side Cover” earlier in this Chapter).

2.Locate the memory upgrade sockets on the system board (see the figure “System board sockets and connectors” earlier in this chapter).

3.Eject a DIMM by pressing the plastic clips at the outer edges of the socket away from the memory module.
