Installation Options

SANsurfer FC HBA Manager supports both stand-alone and networked configurations, as shown in Table 4-1. Install the management tools appropriate for your configuration.

Stand-alone System:

This Windows XP Professional/Windows	SANsurfer FC HBA Manager user interface
2000/Windows Server 2003/Windows Vista/Win-
dows Server 2008 (IA32, IA64 or x64) or Red
Hat/SUSE Linux (IA32) system locally monitors
QLA2xxx adapters.

This Red Hat/SUSE Linux (IA64, x64) or Solaris	SANsurfer FC HBA Manager user interface, plus
SPARC/x86 or Macintosh system locally monitors	one of the following:
QLA2xxx adapters.	SANsurfer FC Linux Agent
	SANsurfer FC Linux Agent
	SANsurfer FC Solaris Agent
	SANsurfer Mac OS X FC Agent

Networked System:

This system locally monitors QLA2xxx adapters	SANsurfer FC HBA Manager user interface, plus
and remote systems on the same network.	one of the following:
	SANsurfer FC Windows Agent
	SANsurfer FC Linux Agent
	SANsurfer FC Solaris Agent
	SANsurfer Mac OS X FC Agent

This system monitors QLA2xxx adapters only on	SANsurfer FC HBA Manager user interface
remote systems on the same network.

The QLA2xxx adapters on this system are	One of the following:
remotely monitored only from other systems on the	SANsurfer FC Windows Agent
same network.	SANsurfer FC Linux Agent
