Check the Battery Electrolyte Level
To check the battery electrolyte level, clean the top of the batteries with a damp cloth..
Remove the six fill plugs (5) from each battery.. Check that the electrolyte level is 6 mm (1/4") below the filler neck of each cell.. Add distilled or demineralized water as required.. Do not overfill..
Replace all fill plugs..
Check for loose cable connections.. Tighten as required..

AFFECTED AREA WITH WATER FOR FIVE MINUTES.
SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY.

Check the Starter Battery Connections |
Check to be sure that the battery cable connection
(1) and the ground connection (2) are tight and clean where they attach to the engine starter.. Clean and tighten as necessary..
The starter is located on the left side of the engine..
WARNING: DISCONNECT THE BATTERY CABLES AT
THE BATTERY BEFORE WORKING ON THE BATTERY
CABLE CONNECTIONS AT THE STARTER.
