Shutting down and restarting the Content Server
On Content Servers equipped with an LCD panel, this can be used to shut down or restart. On
Content Servers which do not have a LCD panel, you should use a PC connected to the Conten t
Server serial port via a ser i al cable. Cisco recomm ends that you end all call s on the Content Server
before you shut down ; otherwise the conferen ces may fail.
Note: If calls are in prog ress when the shut down occu rs, the recorded conferences appear in the
Recorded conference s list but may be unusa b le. They can be deleted i n the normal way.

LCD panel operations

Restarting the Content S erver using the LCD p anel

1. Make sure that the Conten t Server is not recordin g or transcoding; th at is, the LCD displays
'online'.
2. Press to display the m ain menu.
3. Go to Commands > Restart .
4. Select Yes to confirm.
You will see the messag e 'Restarting' on th e LCD panel.

Shutting down the Conte nt Server using the LCD panel

1. Make sure that the Conten t Server is not recordin g or transcoding; th at is, the LCD displays
'online'.
2. Press to display the m ain menu.
3. Go to Commands > Shutdown.
4. Select Yes to confirm.
5. The Content Server shut s down. When you see the m essage 'Power off' on th e LCD or when
the LAN1 and HDD LEDs st op blinking, you can tu rn off the power using th e switch at the back
of the unit.

The Content Server is tr an scoding.
Server modes
config reload
The Content Server is in Reloading Configurations mode. In Reloading Configurations
mode, the Content S erver does not accept n ew cal l s.
1-5 calls (cnfg)
Calls are in progress and the Content Server is in Reloading Config urations mode.
trans (cnfg)
The Content Server is t ranscoding and i s in Reloading Configu rations mode.
idle
The TCS Wizard is runn ing. In Idle mode, the Con tent Server does not acce pt new
calls or process new transcoding jobs.
