policy settings. The recommended
authentication mode for a cluster is
domain authentica tion.
LDAP: LDAP authen tication does n ot
require the Conten t Server to be added
to a domain. Before chan ging
authentication from Local to LDAP, the
site manager must ad d at least one
LDAP user with the si t e manager role to
the Content Server. To do this, go to
Management Settings > Groups and
users and select Add groups or
users. Enter at least one valid
username in Site manager role. Under
LDAP authenticat ion local users cann ot
log in using the stand ard login method.
However, the local ad m inistrator can log
in by adding #page:login&rescue:true to
the end of the Conten t Server URL in
the browser.
Add LDAP
server
You can add up to five ser vers that the
Content Server will lo ok up to authenti ca te
users.
Only active if you have se lected Domain
or LDAP as the Authentication mode.
Server
address
The IP address or DNS name of your
LDAP server.
Only Microsoft Act ive Directory Server
is currently supported.
Port
Port 389 is the default port for most
Domain Controllers. Global Catalog
Servers may use port 3 89 or 3268.
Base DN
The search base which the Content Server
uses to search for user r eco rds. (DN =
Distinguished Nam e)
The Content Server search es the object
specified and any ob j ect s beneath it.
The Base DN is a unique n ame for this
container. It typically consists of OU,
CN, and DC components.
Base DN examples:
OU=employees,DC=c ompany,DC=com
OU=marketing,OU=employees,DC=co
mpany,DC=com
In this example, OU ‘marketing’ is
contained within the OU ‘employees’;
therefore,
OU=employees,DC=c ompany,DC=com
identifies all emp l oye es including the
Marketing depart m ent and
