Displaying the Recording alias list
Recording aliases ar e used to record calls an d contain all the in formation about how the n ew
conference is created . The Content Server is d elivered with a nu mber of default Record i n g aliases
called:
Default Live and OnDemand: conferences created u sing this Recording alias can be streamed
while the call is ongoi ng, and also watched aft er the conference com pletes and has been
transcoded.
Default OnDemand only: conferences created u sing this Recording alias can be watched aft er
the conference comp letes and has been t r an scoded.
The Recording alias d etermines:
What to dial to record u sing this Recording alias.
How the Content Server com municates with the remote endpoint or syst em while recording ,
based on the Call configurat ion specified.
How conferences created with this Recod ing alias are streamed or p layed back, and whet her
they can be played live (while recording is in progress) or only on demand. This is specified by
the Template.
What conference info r m ation will be copied t o conferences created with this Record ing alias.
Who has access to view or ed i t conferences creat ed with this Record ing alias and whether th ey
have a password which must be entered before u sers can watch or download them.

Conference informat ion (such as the name, description, speaker , location, copyrig ht and Category),
conference permis sions and outputs sp eci fied in the Recording alias are automaticall y copied to a
conference that i s created using that Recor d ing alias. This in formation can be edited before the call is
placed, during the ca ll and also after the cal l h as finished.
Only site m anagers can add new Recordin g aliases. Site m anagers can see and edit all the properties
of all Recording aliase s, deciding whet h er a Recording alias is a S ystem or Personal Recordi n g alias.
Creators who own a person al Recording alias ca n only see and edit se l ect ed properties.
Note: Conferences made wit h the same Recording al i as have the same default settings but differen t
conference URLs.
Displaying the Recording alias list
To display the list of cu rrent Recording aliases, go to Conference setup > Recording aliases. From
the Recording alias li st you can:
Edit a Recording ali as : click the approp r i at e Edit button.
Add new Recording ali ases: click Add Recording alias. Site managers can also use an
existing Recordi ng alias, change its n ame and dialing propert ies, and then click Save as.
Select a Recording al i as and then click Delete selected to delete it. If you cannot delete a
Recording alias, it s check box is grayed. O n ly site managers can delete Recording aliases.
