Streaming Windows M ed ia from the Content Server uses the following ports:

Note: The Windows Media p layer will automatical l y use protocol rollo ver if necessary. The d efau lt
streaming protocol fo r the Windows Media playe r is RTSP on port 554 . If the player cannot obtai n the
stream using RTSP (b ecause the port is blocke d on a firewall, for examp le), then it will autom atically
rollover to MMS. MMS ( p ort 1755) is a deprecated streaming protocol an d is not used as a streamin g
transport for Win d ows Media Player version 9 and above. The player will then try HTTP on port 80 .
The Content Server wil l redirect any request s for Windows Media str eam s on port 80 to the correct
HTTP port used by the W indows Media Streaming Server on the Content Server (port 8080).
Streaming Windows M ed ia from the Content Server to the Silverlight player uses the following port:

Serving MPEG-4 for QuickTime, MPEG-4 for Flash or Real Med ia from Content S erver u sing the
