Displaying the cluster overview
Up to ten Content Servers can be clustered to i n crease the total call cap acity and improve redun dancy
and resilience. Such a cluster uses scalable external stor age, an external Microso ft SQL Server
database, and provides one web interface for viewing and managing the cluster. Video conferencing
calls are balanced acr oss the cluster by th e V CS. The use of a network load b alancer ensures that
incoming HTTP user req uests are spread evenly acr oss the servers in t h e cluster. All configu r at ions
and conference inform ation are global across t he cluster.

The Cluster overview page provides information about clust er status, as well as the n um b er of calls
and offline transcoding jobs in progress. It is automatically updated every ten seconds.
Displaying the cluster overview
To display the Clust er overview page, go to Management settings > Cluster Overview. The Cluster
overview page:
Lists the System n am es and IP addresses of all the C on tent Servers in the cl uster.
Displays a link to the Server overview p age for each Content Server . In addition to th e
"standard" server overview information, a Content Server’s system name, H.323 ID and E.164
alias are set in the S erver overview page when in a cl uster.
Reports the total nu mber of current calls for th e cluster and for each Con tent Server.
Reports the total nu mber of offline transcod ing jobs in progress for t he cluster and for each
Content Server.
Reports the server mod e for each Content Server.
Reports the status for each Content Server. If t he Content Server's mod e is Online, then the
Status displays a green tick, meaning that the Conten t server is running correct ly. If the Content
Server's mode is not Online, then the Status d isplays a red exclamation m ark. Go to the Server

Displays links to each Content Server’s server l ogs and web interface for Windows Server
administration.
Allows you to End a ll calls on the whole clu st er. If you want to end ca lls on a particular Conten t
Server only, do this from the Server overview page for th at Content Server.
Allows you to put a Con tent Server in Maintenan ce mode. In this mode, n o new cal l s or offline
transcoding jobs are accepted on that server b u t current calls and j obs continue until comp leted.
The other Content S er vers in the cluster con t inue working as usual.
Maintenance mod e sh ould be used to ensure th at no new calls are made to a Cont en t Server;
for example, if you want to defragment its dri ve, run a Windows securit y update installer or
update antivirus so ft ware on that Content S erver. You should also put a Content Server in
Maintenance mod e ( aft er ending its current ca lls) if you need to shut it down and move it to
another location.
To put a Content Server in Maintenance mode, cl ick Enter maintenance mode. The button
changes to Rejoin cluster, and the Server mode displays Maintenance. After you have
completed main tenance, click Rejoin c luster. The button changes back t o Enter maintenance
mode and Server mode displays Online. This mean s that the Content Server is n ow ready to
receive calls and off l i ne transcoding job s.
