Displaying the Categories list
A conference can be assi gned a Category to make se ar ch ing for conferences faster. Six Categories
come with the Cont ent Server: Announcem ent s, Education, General, Meetings, News and Train i ng.
Each Category has a nam e and can have a description .
Site managers can display the Categories list: go to Management settings > Categories. From the
Categories list, th ey can:
Edit existing Categ ories: click Edit for the Category that you want to change.
Delete Categories: se l ect the Category and click Delete selected. (If you delete a Category that
is in use in a conference or R ecording alias, t h e conference or Recording alias then has no
Category.)
Add new Categories: click Add category. There i s no limit on the number of Cat egories that
can be added.
Recording aliases can be assigned a Category so t hat any conference cre ated using the Record i ng
alias is assigned t hat Category.
Note: In the View Conferences pages, guests (unauthentica t ed users) and users with t he viewer or
creator role who have logg ed in only see a Category in the drop-down list i f t here is a conference in
that Category that t hey have permissions t o see. The number of conferen ces in each Category is
displayed in bracke ts. All Categories are d isplayed to site man ag ers.
