Indexing, cropping & concatenating conferences in the Content Editor
You can use the Conten t Editor to edit conferen ces that you are an edit or of. Site managers can edit
any conference. The Con t ent Editor can:
Add indexes and manage index points.
Crop the conference by changing its start (in point) and/or end (out point).
Concatenate confer en ces: that is, join another conference to t he one already open in th e editor.
One example use of thi s is to remove a section in the middle of a conference by opening the
same conference twice.
All changes are non-destructive; th erefore you can change th e in and out points for a confer ence, for
example, many tim es. Viewing the conference i n the Content Viewer refl ects the changes st r ai ght
away. However, downloads need to be re-transcoded: click Save and clo s e. This removes existing
downloadable outp uts and replaces them wit h new ones when they have been transcoded.
Notes:
To open a conference in t he Content Editor, t he conference must have out puts that can be viewed in
the Content Viewer.
You can use the Conten t Editor on an Apple Mac usi ng MPEG-4 for QuickTime or M P EG-4 for Flash.
The Content Editor is not available on the Mac for Windows Media confer en ces using Silverlig h t.

The Content Editor window

Open the Content Ed itor by going to View conferences > Recorded, clicking Edit for the appropriate
conference and select ing Open content editor.
The top section disp lays the movies on the left an d the Index options on the right with previousl y
created Indexes disp layed. Indexes are used to progress the con ference to a specific point in the
conference, maki ng it easier for users to fin d where they want to watch in the conference. B y cl icking
an item in the Index, t he conference will start playing at that refer ence point.
Note: Indexes can only be ad ded, deleted or ren am ed in the Content Edit or, but they are displayed
and can be used in th e C ontent Viewer when watchi n g the conference.
