Media server configuration: Real Media Streaming Server
Only the Helix Stream i ng Server is supported for streaming Real Med i a content. Savin g the Media
server configurat ion checks that the ser ver i s available at the sp ecified server address and displays
the server type, if th e information is avail able.
You can set up a Media ser ve r configuration for a R ea l Media Streaming Server to do live and/or on
demand streaming .

Server settings
Name
A descriptive name for t he
Media server configu ration.
The server name is u se d in the Template
and Manage outputs p ages when selecting a
Media server configu ration. This is a
required field.
Server address
The IP address or DNS name of
the server.
Support live
streaming
Select whether the se rver is to
support live streamin g and to
display the Live streaming
settings section.
Support On Demand
Select whether the se rver is to
support on demand st reaming
and to display the Live on
demand settings sect ion.
Live streaming set tings
Server type
Either Server G2 or Server 90.
Port
The port used for live st reaming
off your Real Media ser ver.
Ensure that you select ports that
are NOT being used by the
Content Server.
The ports used by the Content Server are
listed in Port Information.
User name
The user name to authen ticate
to the streaming se rver.
Password/Passwo rd
confirm
The password to auth enticate to
the streaming server.
Use default live
URLs
Select to use live URLs
generated by the Con tent
Server.
