The Content Viewer is op en ed when you ask to st r eam /play a conference.

Watching a conference

To stream a conference using the Content Vi ewer: go to the appropri at e View Conferences page and
click the thumbn ai l , the conference name or t he Play button. The co n ference is displayed at t he best
quality for your conn ection, as determi n ed automatically or ent er ed manually in Preferen ces. The
conference indexes ar e displayed, if there a re any. For information about the controls, see the
appropriate section below.
The availability of the Content Viewer depends on:
Whether the conferen ce has outputs suit able for streaming. If n o outputs are available, the Play
button does not app ear in the Conference list and the conference th um bnail and title are not
links. Conference ed itors can change a co nference's outputs usi ng the Manage Output s page.
The format of the confer ence outputs (Win d ows Media, MPEG-4 for QuickT ime, MPEG-4 for
Flash or Real Media) an d the correct player bein g installed on your co mputer. If you are missi ng
the correct players, the Play button is d i sa bled and appears beside it. Click on the
exclamation mark i co n to find out which players are missing. For m ore information about your
available players, se e your Preferences.
Your bandwidth (internet speed) and the bandwidth of the conference. If your bandwidth has
been determined t o be at a lower rate than the b andwidth of the conferen ce, then appears
beside the Play but ton. You can still play th e conference, but you may experience playback
problems. For more in formation about your b andwidth, see your Pref erences.
Notes:
Output formats dep end on the Template used for t he conference, and ca n be changed by conferen ce
editors in the Manag e Outputs page. PC users are able to vie w outputs in the follo win g formats:
Windows Media, MPEG -4 for QuickTime, MPEG -4 for F l ash and Real Media. On an Apple Mac,
Windows Media is supported with the Silverlight plugin, and MPEG-4 for QuickTime and MPEG-4 for
Flash are also suppor t ed. See Supported browsers, plugins & platforms to check the supported
formats for differen t browsers and platform s.
The Template allows a m a ximum of two bit rate/res olution combinat ions per format so that you can
choose the bit rat e t o watch rather than havin g the Content Server chose i t for you. Click Play options
and choose a conference b it rate to play in th e C on tent Viewer. This may b e useful for example if t he
same conference is watch ed by users on a fast n etwork and as well as users with only a dial-up
connection.

Using the Content View er

If the conference incl udes a Dual video stream , the editor of the co n ference can choose how th e main
and dual video is disp layed: as switching (main vid eo steam then the du al vid eo steam when it is
activated), joined (main and dual video st eam s side by side as one st ream), two videos (main and dual
video steams separat ely) or picture-in-pict ure (big dual video steam with the main video steam in a
corner). Otherwise, you just see the main vid eo stream.
