On demand settings
Write movies to the
default media
location

configured.
Do not choose this opt ion if you are
streaming from an external streaming se r ver.
You can check the defau lt media storage
location in the Server overview. The default
media location for MPE G-4 for Flash files is
(media location)\d ata\www.
Write movies to an
alternate location
Select to write media t o an
external streaming server using
a shared drive or UNC path .
Choose this option if the streaming server is
on an external server which has a shared
drive accessible to t he Content Server.
Enter the shared d rive or UNC path, e.g.
\\servername\shared in the Alternate path
field.
FTP movies to
location
Select to use FTP to t ransfer
media files to the extern al
streaming server aft er the call
has ended.
Choose this option if the streaming server is
on, or can access a sh ared drive on, an
external server that is running an FTP
service.
If you select this opt ion, complete the oth er
fields in this section. Then check the FTP
upload functionality by clicking Test FTP.
FTP upload is also test ed every time the
Media server configu ration is saved.
Server address
The IP address or DNS name of
the FTP server.
Port
The port number of th e FTP
service. Most FTP servers will
use port 21.
Directory
The directory relati ve to the root
FTP directory on th e F TP
server. The director y should be
specified using forward slashes
as in a URL, e.g. /movies/ .
If left blank, files will be uploaded to th e root
FTP directory.
User name
The username to auth enticate to
the FTP server.
Password/Passwo rd
confirm
The password to auth enticate to
the FTP server.
Use default on
demand URLs
Select to use on dem and URLs
generated by the Con tent
Server.
If you select this opt ion, also enter the
Application directory.
Application
directory
The name of the direct or y
created under appl i ca tions on
the Wowza Media Server t o
stream on demand. Th i s
directory is used in the default
on demand URL.
If the Wowza Media serve r has been set up
following Cisco recommendation s, this
directory is called vo d.
