Server settings
Name
A descriptive name for t he
Media server configu ration.
The server name is u se d in the Template
and Manage outputs pages when selecting a
Media server configuration. This is a
required field.

Whether the server is t o su pport

display the Live unicast
streaming setting s section.
If selected, enter t he Server address.
Unicast connect ions are one-to one
connections between e ach client and th e
server: therefore, each unicast clien t that
connects to the server t akes up addition al
bandwidth.

multicast streami ng
Whether the server is t o support
live multicast st r eam ing and to
display the Live multicast
streaming setting s section.
In multicast deli ver y, the server sends only
one stream which reach es all player client s
simultaneously. There is no add itional
overhead for the server r egardless of
whether one or more cli ents are connected .
Multicast deliver y is generally used for
broadcasting li ve st reams on a corporate
network and only works i f all routers on th e
network are multica st enabled.

on demand streamin g and to

The IP address or DNS name of
the server.
Live unicast stream ing settings
Streaming port
range start
The port number for th e start of
the streaming port r an ge, e.g.
30000. The start port must be
an even number. The Content
Server will use the st reaming
start port + 30 for streamin g live
calls; for example, a port range
from 30000 to 30030. Ensure
that you select port s that are
NOT being used by the Content
Server.
The ports used by the C on tent Server are
listed in Port Information.
User name
The user name to authen ticate
to the streaming se rver.
Password/Passwo rd

the streaming server.

Select to use live URLs
