the most up-to-date se cu rity patches released b y Microsoft. Go to http ://ftp.tandberg.com/ pub/
software/device_se curity/ rather than t o the Microsoft web site b ecause these updates have b een
tested for compati b ility with the Cisco TeleP resence Content Server.
To apply security updates

4. Using My Computer navig at e to the directory into whi ch you copied the inst al ler.
5. Verify the MD5 hash (ch ecksum) of the file.
A unique MD5 file is p r ovid ed which can be used to veri fy that a file has not beco m e co rrupted
as a result of file transf er, disk error or tamp ering. Any MD5 program can be used for verifying
the installer usi ng the provided MD5 file. A l ist of links to popular prog rams is available at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Md5sum. You need to follow instructions for the MD5 program you
have downloaded.
For example, a program such as md5sum.exe requi res you to run a command in this format:
md5sum -c <installerFileName>.md5
If the installer file successfully passes the integrity check, it returns:
<installerFileName>.ex e: OK
If the installer file d oes not pass the check, you see the following ind icating that the file has
been corrupted and the installer should not be run:
<installerFileName>.ex e: FAI LED
md5sum: WARNING: 1 of 1 computed checksum did NOT match
6. If the installer passed the integrity check, d ouble-click on it to instal l the security update.
7. When prompted, restart the Content Server. Oth erwise, terminate your Rem ote Desktop
session by loggin g off. Do not choose Shutdown because i t will shut down the Content S erver.
