Calling out to record
If your login accou n t has creator privileges you can dial out to an endpoint and record th e endpoint's
camera view for the d u ration of the call as an ad hoc conference.
Scheduled - as opposed to ad hoc - conferences can be recorded using th e Cisco TelePresence
Management Su ite (TMS) - see Using TMS to schedule conferen ces to be recorded on the Content
Server and the TMS on l ine help for more informat i on. A maximum of five cal ls can be recorded (eit her
scheduled or ad hoc) simultaneously and two of these can be stream ed live.
To dial out and record a call:
1. Go to Conference setup > Create conference.
2. Complete the fields using the table below.
3. Click Place call.
4. To end the call, either h ang up from the remote endp oint or system, or cl ick End call.

You may have a Personal Rec ording alias or
have been advised which System Recordin g
alias to use.
If the conference is t o b e watched live (i.e. whil e
it is recording), select a Recording ali as that
allows this. Conferen ces recorded with "n on-live
streaming" Record ing aliases can only be
watched after their ou tputs have been
processed: how long this takes depends on t he
length of the conferen ce and how many other
conference output s the Content Server is
processing when th e call completes. You ca n
see whether output s for your conference are in
the queue to be processe d by going to View
Conferences > Pending.
Note that No live resources available is
displayed if the Cont ent Server is already
streaming the maxim um number of live
conferences, and you will only be able to select
Recording aliases without live output s.
