Functional Interaction
The logical sequence of loading an d as so ci ati ng SCT files is as follows:
Create(Save As)->Modif y(Save)->Load(Download)->Associate
Save AsThe Save As button allows an authorized u s er t o creat e and save a new SCT file:
Step 1 Create an SCT file by selecting New SCT File from the File dropdown menu on the main menu bar.
Step 2 Check that all Service Type tables, th e C oSB table on the VC panel, a nd a ll CoSB parameters on the
CoSB panel are clear.
Step 3 Select the Save As button from the button panel, or select Save As from the File dropdown menu.
Step 4 Name the new SCT file.
Note Newly created SCT files start at ID 100 and increment by 1 regar dless of whether it i s a card or port fi le.
SaveThe Save button allows an authorize d use r to modi fy and sav e a sele cte d SCT f ile . Sel ec tin g an SCT f il e
from the SCT tab, or Node tab, will display the SCT parameters in the Main panel. If the user does not
have permissions, or if the SCT file is associated, then the displaying parameters wil l not be modifiable.
After editing parameters, press the Save button to save the new changes .
DeleteThe Delete button allows an authorized us er to d el ete a selected SCT file. The use r can d ele te an SCT
file only if it is not loade d and not associated. To delete an SCT file, select the appropriate SCT file and
then press the Delete button.
ResetThe Reset button allows an authorized user to c an cel ch an g es a nd reset data for a selected SCT file.
DownloadThe Download button allows an authorized user to lo ad a s el ect ed S CT fil e. L oa d an SCT file by
selecting one from th e S C T tab panel and pressi ng t he Download button. This will prompt the user for
the Node name. Once the Nod e ID is entered, the user selects OK to load the SCT file into the specified
node.
AssociateThe Associate button allows an authorized user to asso ciate a selected SCT file if it has bee n loaded into
a node. A loaded SCT file is identifi ed by the fact that it has a leaf node on th e SCT tree. Under the Node
tree view, if an SCT file is a leaf node of a n ode, then the SCT file is loaded into that node. To associate
