Downloading Software and Firmware

Introduction

This chapter provides information for downloading software and firmware, describes where to obt ain it,
and details the required preparat io n s an d pro ced u re s for d ownl oa di ng s o f tware an d firm war e f r om th e
CWM workstation to a Cisco WAN switch.
The TFTP/FTP protoc ol is used to download soft ware and firmware imag es from the CWM worksta tion
to WAN switches.
Note A CWM workstation is n ot required to download t he software images. You can dow nl oad the software
images using any machine that ca n run a FTP client/server proc es s.
Note CWM Image Download only transfers the image file f rom th e C WM workstation to the s w itc h.
