Cisco WAN Manager OverviewCisco WAN Manager (CWM), a sui te of WAN multiservice managem ent applications, prov ides powerful
fault, configuration, and performance mana gement functionality for WAN multiservice switches. CW M
also provides robust statistics coll ect io n, storing the information in an Inf or mi x S Q L d at ab as e a nd
allowing simple integration of this data into existing network management and operations systems.
Element and network mana gement functions are provi ded by the CWM system, which can manage Cisco
BPX® 8600 and Cisco IGX™ 8400 series wide-area switches, th e Cisco BPX SES PNNI Contr oller, and
Cisco MGX™ 8220, Cisco MGX™ 8230, Cisco MGX™ 8250, and both Rele ase 1 and Release 2 Cisco
MGX™ 8850 devices seamlessly. CWM provides open interfaces for higher level service management
systems.

under the Apps pull down menu of the CWM Topology Main Window:

CWM provides these functions in an open management environment. CWM runs on Release 2.7 of
Solaris and integrates with Rele ase 6 .1 0 o f HP OpenView.
