The Statistics Collection Ma na ge r (S C M ) pr ov id es a f or ms - b ased i nterface to establish and modify
statistic collection polic ies for the network. You can configure st atistic collection policies su ch as which
statistics to collect, and collect ion inte rval periods for a node, por t, or pri vate virtu al circui t (PVC). SCM
provides extensive error handling and logging capabilities that enable reliable collection of statistics for
performance or billing applications.
Security Manager
The Security Manager (SM) ap pl ica tio n is a n ew Java- ba sed ap pl ic ati on for Release 10 of CWM tha t
provides controlled access to multiple users of CWM based on the unique user ID and password. You
can use Security Management to provide individuals access privileges to perform specific tasks such as
viewing topology or establishing and managing connections. Without the required access privileges,
unauthorized users cannot perform any network management functions.
Wingz Report and Summary Report
CWM Statistics Reports are generated through a graphical reporting package based on the Informix
Wingz Report application. CWM also provides node utilization reports not based on Wingz. These
reports are obtained through the Summary Report application. Both the Wingz Rep o rt an d th e
Summary Report applications provide a point-and-click graphical user interface to generate reports
based on information collected by the Statisti cs Agen ts. For each re port, th e user ident ifies cert ain
criteria, such as network obje ct, ty pe o f stat is t ics, granularity, report interval, and graph ica l f o rm at,
depending on the Report appl ic ation selected. For the Wingz Rep ort, th e r ep o rt ag en t queries the
Informix database and generates a report in the desired format, such as line, bar, 3D, or tabular chart.

Cisco View
WAN Cisco View is a JAVA-based device management software GU I ap pl ica tio n th at al lows you to:
Display a graphical representation of the network device
Display configuration and performance information
Perform minor configuration tasks
Perform minor troubleshooting tasks
WAN Cisco View supports card, line, and port configuration on the MGX 8220, 8230, 8250, Release 1
and 2 of the MGX 88 5 0, IGX 8400 series, BPX 8600 series, and BP X SES PNNI Controlle r.
