Chapter 8 Statistics Co llection Manager
Launching the SCM Standalone Collect or

Purge Interval (days)

You specify the value (in days) used to d ete rmine which old files are p u rge d from the
/usr/users/svplus/purg e directory when space in your hard disks Incoming partition drops below
twenty megabytes. The files with a d ate N days older than todays date are purged. (0 = no purging is
done.) The default is 3 days.

Statistic Database Configuration

Purge Interval (hours)

You specify the value (in hours) us ed to determine how long the data is maintained by the CWM database.
The default retention period is 24 hours. The maximum retention period is 8784 hour s (1 ye ar).
Note If the database contains insufficient sp ace fo r sta ti stic s storage, the statistics collection proc es s
may shut down. If this happens, reduce the purge interval to 12 hours.

Statistic FTP Configuration

Username

You specify the FTP username. The default is svplus.

Password

Enter the FTP password. T he s cr ee n will display asterisks .

Confirm Password

Reenter your FTP password in th is field. Once again, the screen wil l d i spl ay as t er isk s .
Launching the SCM Standalone Collector
The Statistics Collection Ma na ge r ( SC M) for Release 10 of CWM h as a n ew standalone collector that
allows a separate SCM collecti on server in both installation and statistics collection, and is i nstalled and
run from a client CWM workstation. This new feature allows you to control and manage statistics
collection through a standal one application. The Statist ics Co n tr ol le r S e rv er, Stat is ti cs C ollection
Server, and Statistics Parser Server provid e s t ati s ti cs a pplicable to the different cards a nd n od es .
Note Please refer to Chapter 6 of the CWM Installation Guide for installation procedures for the
Standalone SCM.
Launch SCM Standalone Collector through an xterm window by issuing the SCM command at the
command line. Figure 8-5 shows an xterm window displayed with SCM typed at the command line:
