Jam detection

The product uses the following sensors to detect the presence of media and to check for jams. If media does not reach or pass each sensor within a specified time, the ECU determines that a jam has occurred and alerts the formatter.

NOTE: To find the following components, see Photo sensors and switches on page 34.

●PS2; fuser delivery sensor

●PS4; face-down tray media-full sensor

●PS215; Top-of-Page (TOP) sensor

●PS225; media width sensor

●PS502; duplex media-feed sensor (duplex models only)

●PS8008; paper feeder media-feed sensor

NOTE: PS8008 is used in Tray 3 and Tray 4.

The product detects the following jams:

●Pickup delay jam

●Pickup stationary jam

●Delivery delay jam

●Delivery stationary jam

●Fuser wrapping jam

●Door open jam

●Residual media jam

●Duplex repickup jam (duplex models only)
