Globals tab fields

Field

Description

Operation

Enables or disables the operation of RIP on all

interfaces. The default is disabled.

UpdateTime

The time interval between RIP updates on all

interfaces. It is a global parameter for the box; that

is, it applies to all interfaces and cannot be set

individually for each interface. The default is 30

seconds.

RouteChanges

The number of route changes made to the IP Route

Database by RIP; does not include the refresh of

a route’s age.

Queries

The number of responses sent to RIP queries from

other systems.

HoldDownTime

Sets the length of time that RIP will continue

to advertise a network after determining it is

unreachable. The range is 0 to 360 seconds. The

default is 120 seconds.

TimeOutInterval

The time out interval between RIP update and all

interfaces.

DefImportMetric

Sets the value of the default import metric to import

a route into a RIP domain. For announcing OSPF

internal routes into a RIP domain, if the policy does

not specify a metric value, the default import metric

should be used. For OSPF external routes, the

external cost is used.
