9.2Setup of the Printer and

Installing the Printer Driver

After the printer protocol setup is done, carry out the following procedure on the computer.

• Before installing the printer driver on the client computer, check that Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) has been installed. If it has not been installed, refer to the Windows 2000 manual to install it.

•When using the internet printing via the proxy server, an error message, "Cannot be connected to the internet" may appear when setting the printer. When this happens, change the setting of the IP address without going through the proxy server by selecting Printer, Settings, Control Panel, and then Internet Options. For details on the setup method, refer to the Windows 2000 manual.

Procedure

Click Start, and then select Settings, followed by Printers.

The Printers window appears.

Double click Add Printer.

The Add Printer Wizard dialog box appears.

Click Next.
