“T-score”

This is the deviation of average BMD of the patient from that of a young healthy comparison group. It rep- resents bone loss with reference to the peak bone mass.

“Z-score”

This is the deviation of average BMD of the patient from that of a healthy person of the same age. It is an indicator of biological variability.
