3.Select the document image type that best matches your document.

Line

Select when the original contains lines and text

 

images.

Picture

Select when the original contains dot matrix

 

images (like newspaper, posters, or copy of

 

photographs).

Line/picture

Select when the original contains text/lines and

 

dot matrix images or halftone images.

Photo

Select when the original contains pure glossy

 

image.

Low contrast Select when the original contains pencil writing.

Dark contrast Select when the original contains a dark background (negatives, blueprints, sepias, diazo).

4.Select the desired background suppression. If needed, select the arrow buttons to further adjust the background suppression level.

Fixed

Select fixed when the background is uniform.

 

Examples include diazo paper, newspaper, and

 

colored paper.

Variable

Select variable when the background is not

 

uniform. For example the document

 

background has light and dark areas.

Off

Background suppress feature is off.

To cancel the changes and exit from this screen, select cancel.

5.Insert the document to make copies, or select done as required to select additional features.
