10.3.3THE OPEN-SESSION MENU

10.3.3.A What Is “Opening a Session”?

When you select a device attached to an Serial Control Card, it is called “opening a session.” The selected channel’s video appears on your monitor and the channel name is displayed in the lower right-hand corner. If you open a second channel, that channel becomes the currently active channel, and the first channel becomes inactive (but remains open). The new channel’s name replaces the first channel’s name in the right-hand corner, and the first channel’s name is instead displayed in one of the three remaining blocks at the bottom of the menu. See Figure 10-2.
