SERVSWITCH™ MULTI

10.4.3DOWNLOAD LOCAL TO REMOTE FLASH ROM (CROSSLOAD FIRMWARE BETWEEN CARDS)

If the main menu serial-port function is enabled (you can check this by selecting option 10), you can use option 3 to transfer firmware from the local Management Card to any other ServSwitch Multi Card in your system that you can transmit to. When you select this option, the local Management Card checks the firmware programs it has loaded in its memory, then displays descriptions of them on screen (see the last paragraph on the previous page for what each column means).

The Card then prompts you for the numbered slot in its Flash memory where the program you want to transfer is stored (the program in position 1 can’t be transferred to any other Card):

Local Flash ROM number (2..9) [2]:

Then the Card prompts you for the address of the Card that will be receiving the firmware program:

Channel address [0-H]:

Finally you’re prompted for the number of the slot in the other Card’s memory where you want that Card to store the program (“1” is the only valid option for any type of Card other than Management Cards):

Remote Flash ROM (1..7) [1]:

Type in the number of your desired slot or press [Enter] to accept the default value. As soon as you do so— provided the addresses and the file are all valid—the transfer begins. Depending on whether the transfer succeeds or not, one of these messages will be displayed:
