To install your cabling and console equipment at each Sun type secondary console, first plug the User Cable’s HD62 connector into the matching connector on the
Now plug the cables from your Sun keyboard, your Sun or serial mouse, and your multisync monitor into the matching connectors on the User Cable. (Note that the stock cable is designed to connect to a multisync monitor rather than a Sun monitor; a multisync monitor will be necessary in most situations, because most people who have Sun computers in their system have PCs as well. However, if your Sun monitor is capable of syncing to and displaying the video output of all of your computers, you can use the KV16SUN adapter to connect it to the system; see Section 3.3.4.)
If the User Cable is a multimedia type, it will have three additional connectors: two RCA jacks for a mono microphone and stereo speakers or headphones, and a DB9 male connector for a serial device. Attach any appropriate equipment as desired.
