3.3.1FOR IBM STYLE KEYBOARD AND MOUSE

If you are using an IBM PS/2 or PC/AT style keyboard and a PS/2 or serial mouse at a given console, the User Cable you’ll need will be labeled KV2505, KV2515, KV2545, or KV2585 depending on the options you ordered (see Table 3-1 at the start of Section 3.3). To install your cabling and console equipment at each IBM type secondary console, first plug the User Cable’s HD62 connector into the matching connector on the User-Interface Card. When you’re sure the connection is firmly seated, secure it by tightening the associated thumbscrews.

Now plug the cables from your keyboard, mouse, and monitor into the matching connectors on the User Cable. (You might be able to use your non-multisync RS/6000, SGI, or HP monitor instead of a VGA monitor; see Section 3.3.4.) If the User Cable is an audio type, it will have three additional connectors: two RCA® jacks for a mono microphone and stereo speakers or headphones, and a DB9 male connector for a serial device. Attach any appropriate equipment as desired.
