OS Installation Methods

C-Seriesservers support several operating systems. Regardless of the OS being installed, you can install it
onyour server using oneof the following tools:
KVMconsole
PXEinstallation server

KVM Console

TheKVM console is an interface accessible from CIMC that emulates a direct keyboard, video, and mouse
(KVM)connection to the server. The KVM console allows you to connect to the server from a remote location.
Insteadof using CD/DVD or floppy drives physically connected to the server, the KVM console uses virtual
media,which are actual disk drives ordisk imagefiles that are mapped to virtualCD/DVD or floppy drives.
Youcan map any of the following to a virtual drive:
CD/DVDor floppy drive on your computer
Diskimage files (ISO or IMG files) on your computer
USBflash drive on your computer
CD/DVDor floppy drive on the network
Diskimage files (ISO or IMG files) on the network
USBflash drive on the network
