Processor Configuration Parameters
DescriptionName
Whetherthe processor uses Intel Hyper-Threading Technology,
whichallows multithreadedsoftware applications to execute
threadsin parallel within each processor. This can be one of the
following:
•Disabled—Theprocessor does not permit hyperthreading.
•Enabled—Theprocessor allows for the parallel execution
ofmultiple threads.
Werecommend that you contact your operating system vendor
tomake sure the operating system supports this feature.
IntelHyper-Threading Technology
Allowsyou to disable one ormore of thephysical cores on the
server.This can be one of the following:
•All—Enablesall physical cores. This also enablesHyper
Threadingon theassociated logical processorcores.
•1throughn—Specifies the number of physical processor
coresthat can run on the server. Each physical core has
anassociated logical core.
Todisable Hyper Threading and have only one logical
processorcore running on the server, select 1.

Numberof EnabledCores
Classifiesmemory areas onthe server to specify where
applicationcode can execute.As a result of this classification,
theprocessor disablescode executionif amalicious worm
attemptsto insert code in the buffer. This setting helps to prevent
damage,worm propagation, and certain classes of malicious
bufferoverflow attacks. This can be one of the following:
•Disabled—Theprocessor does not classify memory areas.
•Enabled—Theprocessor classifies memory areas.
