Creating a vHBA

commit

Purpose

Commits the transaction to the system configuration.

Note The changes will take effect upon the next server reboot.

This example configures the properties of a vHBA:

What to Do Next

Reboot the server to apply the changes.

Creating a vHBA

The adapter provides two permanent vHBAs. If NIV mode is enabled, you can create up to 16 additional vHBAs.

Before You Begin

You must log in with user or admin privileges to perform this task.

Procedure

Step 1

Server# scope chassis

Enters the chassis command mode.

Step 2

Server /chassis # scope adapter

Enters the command mode for the adapter card at the PCI

 

index

slot number specified by index.

 

 

Note

The server must be powered on before you can

 

 

 

view or change adapter settings.

Step 3

Server /chassis/adapter # create

Creates a vHBA and enters the host Fibre Channel

 

host-fc-if name

interface command mode. The name argument can be up

 

 

to 32 ASCII characters.
