Managing Network Adapters

Importing the Adapter Configuration

Procedure

 

Command or Action

Purpose

 

Step 1

Server# scope chassis

Enters the chassis command mode.

Step 2

Server /chassis # scope adapter

Enters the command mode for the adapter card at the PCI

 

index

slot number specified by index.

 

 

Note

The server must be powered on before you can view

 

 

 

or change adapter settings.

Step 3 Server /chassis/adapter # export-vnicprotocol remote server IP address

Starts the export operation. The adapter configuration file will be stored at the specified path and filename on the remote server at the specified IP address. The protocol can be one of the following:

TFTP

FTP

SFTP

SCP

HTTP

This example exports the configuration of adapter 1:

Server# scope chassis

adapter 1

Server /chassis # scope

Server

/chassis/adapter

# export-vnic ftp 192.0.20.34 //test/dnld-ucs-k9-bundle.1.0.2h.bin

Importing the Adapter Configuration

Important If any firmware or BIOS updates are in progress, do not import the adapter configuration until those tasks are complete.

Before You Begin

You must log in with admin privileges to perform this task.
