Servicing the HP 8560A requires the removal of the spectrum analyzer’s cover assembly and the folding down of six board assemblies. Four of these assemblies lay flat along the top of the analyzer and two lay flat along the bottom of the analyzer. All six assemblies are attached to the analyzer’s right side frame using hinges and fold out of the analyzer allowing access to all major assemblies. See Figure

Cable Color CodeCoaxial cables and wires will be identified in the procedures by reference designation, or name, followed by a color code. The code is identical to the resistor color code. The first number indicates the base color with second and third numbers indicating any colored stripes. For example, W23, coax 93, indicates a white cable with an orange stripe.
