Console-based Management

This chapter describes how to use the Console-based management screens on your Netopia R3100 ISDN Router. The console screens provide an alternate method for experienced users to configure their router without using SmartStart. After completing the Easy Setup console screens, your router will be ready to connect to the Internet or another remote site.

About Console-based Management

Console-based management is a menu-driven interface for the capabilities built in to the Netopia R3100. Console-based management provides access to a wide variety of features that the router supports. You can customize these features for your individual setup. This section describes how to access the console-based management screens.

Console-based management screens contain seven entry points to the Netopia Router configuration and monitoring features. The entry points are displayed in the Main Menu shown below:
