The optical drive in the RS/6000 is certified in the U.S. to conform to requirements of the Department of Health and Human Services 21 Code of F Regulations (DHHS 21 CFR) Subchapter J for Class 1 laser products. Elsewhe the drive is certified to conform to the requirements of the Internatio Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 825 (1st edition 1984) and CENELEC EN 60 825:1991 for Class 1 laser products.
