Resetting

the

Terminal:

If the user enters a terminal type that is valid

may be encountered in reading the

difficulties can be byp

pressing Ctrl-C to reset the terminal. The screen display which results fro

Running Standalone Diagnostics

Consider the following when you run Standalone Diagnostics:

ŸThe diagnostic disc must remain in the CD-ROM drive for the entire time diagnostics are executing.

Ÿ The diagnostic

CD-ROM disc cannot be ejected from the

CD-ROM

drive

once

the

diagnostics

have

loaded.

The

disc

can

only be ejected

after

th

been

turned

off

and

then turned on (standalone mode) or after the

di

program has

terminated

(Online concurrent mode). The disc must be eject

prior

to the

system

attempting

to

load

the

diagnostics

again.

 

 

Ÿ The CD-ROM drive from which diagnostics were loaded cannot be tested.

ŸThe SCSI adapter (or circuitry) controlling the CD-ROM drive from which diagnostics were loaded cannot be tested.

Running Online Diagnostics

Consider the following when you run the Online Diagnostics from a server or

ŸThe diagnostics cannot be loaded and run from a disk until the AIX op system has been installed and configured. After the AIX operating sys been installed, all three modes of operation are available.
