Special copy function

Negative/Positive (reversing black and white areas)

If using this feature, the black and white areas of the original are reversed.

Note: You cannot combine this feature with Reduced or Enlarged copies.

Helpfultip: If you programmed a Soft key to turn on or off this feature, simply press- ing that key will turn on or off this feature.

1	Make sure the machine is in the Copy mode.
2	Place your original document in ADF face up, or on the FBS glass face down.
3	Enter the document size by pressing the D O C U M E N T SIZE.
4	Press A D VA N C E D FUNCTIONS,ENTER.The LCD shows the current setting:
		Nega/Posi		:Off
			/	/Enter
	Note:		This feature is Off for default setting. However, you can turn it on for the
			default. (See page 4.7.)
5	Press		or until the setting you want appears.
	In this example, we ve chosen On.
		Nega/Posi		:On
			/	/Enter

6 Press ENTER to save the setting. The machine returns to the standby mode with following display:

Copy <Nega/Posi> 1

Ltr Auto 100%

7 As needed, set the following:

Select document type and adjust image contrast

Enter the number of copies

8 Press START.

Note: To reset the copy parameter to default setting, press C O P Y RESET.

Note: To stop the copying, press STO P.

Basic operation

Combine (This mode is available only on the MFX-1700.)

This feature allows you to copy from four one-sided origi- nals to one sheet of paper.

Note: When using the Combine mode, the magnification ratio is automatically set to 50%. However, you can change it manually from 50 to 200 % if you want.

Note: Although you can use Combine with the Ultra copy resolution, part of original image might be not copied. Ultra copy resolution only allows you to copy docu- ments at 100 %. Images cannot be enlarged or reduced.

1	Make sure the machine is in the Copy mode.
2	Place your original document in ADF face up, or on the FBS glass face down.
3	Enter the document size by pressing the D O C U M E N T SIZE.
4	Press COMBINE.The machine will return to the standby mode with following dis-
	play:
		Copy <Combine>		1
		Ltr	Auto	50%

Note: IfCOMBINE is not assigned to a Soft Key, press A D VA N C E D FUNCTIONS twice, ENTER.Then select On by using the cursor key and press ENTER.(See page 4.8 to change the default setting.)

5 As needed, set the following: Document type and Image contrast

Number of copies

Copy reduction or enlargement ratio (50 200%).

6 Press START.

Note: To reset the copy parameter to default setting, press C O P Y RESET.

Note: To stop the copying, press STO P.
