Removing the front bezel

The front bezel is a plastic cover installed on the front of the BCM1000. You must remove the bezel to add or remove the cards or the media bay modules. Refer to Figure 75.

1To remove the front bezels:

Base unit: Grasp the edge of the front bezel and pull it forward.

Expansion unit: Push against the bottom of the bezel, and then pull the bezel out from the top.

1. Push against the bottom

2. Pull out from the top

Restarting the system

When you finish your maintenance procedures, restart the Business Communications Manager hardware in the order described in this section.

Restoring the system to operation

To restore the system to operation after a maintenance session, follow these steps:

1Ensure that all cables inside the housing are connected snugly to the correct boards and excess cable is bundled neatly, out of the way.

2Put the bezel back on the BCM1000 or BCM1000e, if you removed it.

3Put the lid back on the unit and replace the screws.

4If you removed the unit from the rack or wall, replace it.

5Plug the BCM1000e, if there is one, back into the ac power source.

6Plug the BCM1000 back into the ac power source.
