Adding or replacing a cooling fan

Cooling fans circulate air through the chassis of the BC M1000 a nd expansion unit to prevent the
components from overheati ng.

two versions of the base unit.
Figure 102 provides an overview of the fan replacement process.

Note: A redundant cooling fan is included in the kit when you add a redundant powe r
supply to the server.

The cooling fa n connections on the BCM1000 ver sion 2.5 hardware co nnect to t he system
stat us module (SSM). Ensure tha t y ou follo w the dir ections pr ovided for thi s version of the
hardware when reconnecting new fans.
