WARNING: Failure to replace and tighten all screws properly may not provide adequate grounding of the system board and result system failures.

4Connect the 12-V and 24-pin power cables to the system board.

5Connect the chassis front-fan and chassis rear-fan power cables to the system board.

6Connect all front panel cables to the system board.

7Connect all CD/DVD/floppy/media card reader/hard drive data cables to the system board.

8If the system board is a replacement:

a Install the memory modules onto the system board (see "Replacing or Adding a Memory Module" on page 90).

b Install the processor onto the system board (see "Replacing the Processor" on page 100).

c Install the processor heat-sink assembly onto the system board (see "Replacing the Processor Heat-Sink Assembly" on page 87).

9Connect any additional cables to the system board as required.

10Install all PCI and PCI Express cards into the expansion-card slots.

11Check all cable connections throughout the computer chassis to ensure they are secure.

12Follow the procedure in "After Working on Your Computer" on page 17.

13Verify that your computer works correctly by running the Dellâ„¢ Diagnostics (see "Dell Diagnostics" on page 136).
