8-20 User Assignments
Group Memberships section
Understanding the Group Assignments
The Group Assignments lets you define call handling for groups of users. Groups should contain at least two members. If you create a new group containing fewer than two members, Installation Manager displays a warning dialog and will write an error notice to the installation log during a compile. You can create five types of group assignments:
•Hunt Group - Circular: An incoming call proceeds through a group of up to 100 stations until it reaches a
•Hunt Group - Pilot: Incoming calls to the pilot number begin the hunting sequence. Calls to busy stations, other than the pilot number, receive a busy tone. The secretary station is optional. If it exists, the call will be directed to the secretary station if all the stations in a hunt group are busy.
•UCD Group: Incoming calls are distributed to a group of up to 100 stations. Calls are distributed to idle stations in a circular pattern, in the order in which they arrive.
•Pickup Group: A group of stations with the ability to pick up calls made to any other member of the group.
•Secretary: A user can be defined as a secretary allowing that user to be used by the group assignment. A secretary can be assigned to multiple groups (multiple secretary feature), but not as a member of the Pilot or Circular Hunt groups.

Pickup field
In the event a member is already assigned to a hunt or pickup group, selecting a different template from the list will have the effect of removing them from the prior hunt/pickup group and adding them to the new one (only allowed in the case that the new hunt/pickup group is not already full). In the case where the new hunt/pickup group is full already, the user will be prompted to either edit the newly selected pickup group to make room for this member, or add a new pickup group template.
