Clearing a Recording Paper Jam

If a recording paper jam occurs during a reception or a copying operation, the message “PA-

1 Remove the Documents

2 Pull Up the Document Exit Tray

3 Remove the Jammed

4 Remove the Bypass

Paper (Bypass Tray)

PER SIZE ERROR OR PAPER JAM XX” is displayed in the LCD window. Follow this proce- dure to clear the jam.

The code number “XX” indicates the location where the paper jam has occurred as shown in the table below.

Leave the power of the facsimile ON.

If a document is in the Docu- ment Support or Document Exit Tray, remove the document.

Lift up on the Document Exit Tray so that it catches under the Control Panel.

CAUTION:

Do not place heavy objects on the Document Exit Tray or apply strong force.

Remove the jammed paper from the Bypass Tray.
