A secretary for a qxcific department could provide better a&stance to that department’s callers. The secretary would have more knowledge of the department’s activities

Enter the ma&ox number of the inteqept position. The Xxhiba VP System laoks at the USER Table to determine the extension.

Definition:

When

configured for

mallboxes:

 

Blocking numbers prevent certain mailboxes from being called through rome or all ports. If the port has a defined call blocking value, callers are only allowed to call maikxes with the same call blocking number as the port the call came in on, or mailboxes with a call blocking value of NONE.

 

By COS, call blocking can be configured dynamically by mailbox. If

 

Attribute 52 is assigned to the port COS and the port does not have

 

a call blocking number but the mailbox does, callers are only allowed

 

to

call

other

mailties with the same call blocking

number

as the

mailbox

NONE.

Usage:

If the port the call came in on has a value for blocking, the

VP System checks this index value for the mailbox number dialed.

The two values are compared. The call is not extended if the value for the mailbox index is not the same as the port value. The caller is informed “Emnsion XXX doa twt &t mor hears the Custom-Prompt recorded for blocked extensions. Refer to the CUSTOM PROMPT chapter in this manual.
