Solution 2: Contact HP support

Solution: You can continue to print from your product, but for optimum print quality you should align the print head. If the alignment still will not work and print quality is unacceptable, contact HP support for service. Go to:

www.hp.com/support.

If prompted, choose your country/region, and then click Contact HP for information on calling for technical support.

Cause: The print carriage or sensor was defective.

Cannot print

Solution: Replace the indicated ink cartridges with new ink cartridges to resume printing.

CAUTION: HP recommends that you do not remove an ink cartridge until a replacement is ready to install.

Cause: The product did not have enough ink to print properly.

Carriage stall

Try the following solutions to resolve the issue. Solutions are listed in order, with the most likely solution first. If the first solution does not solve the problem, continue trying the remaining solutions until the issue is resolved.

Solution: Print a self-test report to see if the product can print.

To print a self-test report

1.Load letter or A4 unused plain white paper into the input tray.

2.Press and hold the Cancel button and then press the Red-Eye Removal button. The product prints a self-test report, which contains the following information:

Product information: includes the model number, serial number, and other product information.

Revision information: includes the firmware version number.

Ink delivery system information: displays the approximate ink level of each installed ink cartridge, the status of each ink cartridge, the date each cartridge was installed, and the date each cartridge will expire.
