3. I/O Application Precautions
(3) Over-curr ent pr otection
The output cir c uit of the T 1/ T1S does not contain pr ot ect ive f uses. Fuses rated for the
output should be provided by the user.
(4) Output sur ge protect ion
Wher e an induct ive load is connected to the output, a r elatively hig h ener gy transient
voltage will be generated when the relay turns OFF. To prevent the problems caused by
this surg e, install a surge absorber in parallel to the inductive load.
Surge absor ber :
· Flywheel diode (for DC output )
Inverse withstand voltage: At least three times that of t he power supply
Forward current: Lar ger than t he load cur rent
· Varistor (for AC output)
The voltage r ating is 1.2 tim es t he m aximum ( peak) voltage of the power supply
· CR snubber (for DC or AC out put )
R: 0.5 t o 1 W per volt coil voltage
C: 0.5 t o 1 mF per am pere of coil curr ent (non-polarit y capacitor )
