2.Configure the parameters for the radio. For help, see the next table.

3.Configure the advanced parameters for the radio. For help, see “Configuring 802.11g Radio Advanced Parameters” on page 102.

4.(Master only) Configure inbound filters. For help, see “Configuring 802.11g Radio Inbound Filters” on page 107.

5.Click Submit Changes to save your changes. To activate your changes, from the menu bar click Save/Discard Changes, and then click Save Changes and Reboot. For help, see “Saving Configuration Changes” on page 46.

6.(Optional) Configure security by clicking Configure security settings for this service set. For help, see Chapter 6, “Configuring Security” on page 169.

Frequency

Choose the frequency that this access point uses

(Master radio only)

to transmit and receive frames. The available

 

frequencies depend on the country and the radio

 

option configured on the access point. See the

 

Table 30, ”Worldwide Frequencies for 802.11g

 

and 802.11b Radios” on page 101.

 

You may want to use a single frequency to isolate

 

the installation to part of the band; for example,

 

use a single frequency if other wireless networks

 

or microwave ovens are in the area.

 

For optimal performance of master radios in

 

access points that are in range of each other,

 

configure the frequencies to be at least five

 

channels apart. For example, configure the

 

frequency to use channels 1, 6, and 11.
