Help

Enter a question mark (?) at the system prompt to display all of the

commands in a mode. See Table 1 -3 for additional help commands.

Table 1-3. Basic Functions

Command Description Example

partial-command? (First tokens only -
not whole syntax) Lists the commands that begin with the
specified character string. There is no
space between the command and
question mark.
# m?
mtrace

partial-command <Tab> Completes a command name. # conf <Tab>
# configure
partial-command +Lists the remaining syntax of all
commands that begin with the character
string.
> sh+
+ Lists all of the commands for the current
mode - complete syntax and help
descriptions.
# +
? Lists, if unique, all commands for the
current command mode. (configure)# ?
command ? (Gives the next token
(parameter or keyword)) Lists the command parameters (with a
brief explanation, if available). There is
a space between the command and the
question mark.
# show ?
command[parameter] ? (Gives the
next token (parameter or keyword)) Lists the arguments for a parameter.
There is a space between the parameter
and the question mark.
(configure)# show ip ospf ?
