Global Configuration.

Description

Sets the type of syslog messages that are sent to SNMP trap receivers. The

 

no form of this command disables the type specified. The default setting is:

 

{start system config temp resource fan power service_port

 

auth_failure bridge_stat switch_fabric redundant_cpu unknown_mac

 

snmp}.

Syntax

To Enable:

logging traps {start system config temp resource fan

 

power service_port user_port auth_failure

 

bridge_stat switch_fabric redundant_cpu

 

unknown_mac snmp login_status}

 

 

To Disable:

no logging traps {start system config temp resource

 

fan power service_port user_port auth_failure

 

bridge_stat switch_fabric redundant_cpu

 

unknown_mac snmp login_status}

Logs each configuration change (for example,

 

enabling and disabling ports).

 

 

temp

Logs changes in temperature status. Temperature

 

status messages could precede a switch shutdown,

 

and are often critical.

 

 

resource

Logs changes in system resources.

 

 

fan

Logs fan status changes. Fan failures will

 

eventually lead to overheating the system. The fan

 

status message provides a good early warning for a

 

failure that could eventually cause the switch to

 

shut down.

 

 

power

Logs the addition or removal of a power supply
